Things have been busy lately and I haven’t been blogging.
But after canoeing this weekend with new gear, I just had to post. It is always so exciting when new gear works out.
We recently picked up a barrel cooler and two barrel buckets from Recreational Barrel Works. They worked so well!
We have been saying for years that there needs to be a system for organizing stuff in the barrels; something easier than taking everything out and setting it on the ground just to find that bar of chocolate that has made it’s way to the bottom.
We have used a square cooler in the past. It worked – but not well. A round cooler is brilliant.
You’ve got to love a good system.
The cooler stayed very cold for two days with just a few frozen water bottles.
At home the buckets sat on the dining room table the week before our trip and we added things when we had a minute.
When we got home, the barrel was empty in a second.
This meant we were able to have Belgian waffles, fruit salad with yogurt for breakfast. AND we were able to find the ingredients for S’MORES by campfire light.
Not only was the food great, we had the perfect view to enjoy as we ate our breakfast.
