I was sitting on the dock with a group of friends talking about how we are all now wearing Keen sandals. I mentioned that I should have bought the ‘tie-dye’ Keens I saw last year because I have been thinking about them ever since. I got home that night and there on Facebook was an ad for the very sandals – Keen Newport Retro from a discount end of line place. Creepy. I had not been searching for them at all.
I decided to go directly to the Keen website and sure enough they had the shoes in my size. It is my third pair of Keens and the most “aggressive”. I love them so much I almost didn’t wear them camping. How crazy is that?
They have now been on their first trip and they are great. No slipping on wet rock and lots of support on portages. They are heavier than my other Keens and I didn’t try swimming in them, but they will be my main camping Keens going forward.
