Five minutes into my first trip with our new red barrels and someone stopped to ask where we got them.
We have always had a yellow Eureka barrel. We liked it because it wasn’t blue like all the other barrels out there. But after years of trips and wear & tear, including handle replacement, we realized that it was time to replace it. The ring was starting to go which is a pretty critical piece of the barrel – and the rings are not a standard size so we have been unable to replace them.
We got a new red barrel – big thank you to Recreational Barrel Works – located in Peterborough.
The shape is slightly different but our old Eureka harness fit just fine.
The new barrels are a bit harder to close, but we are OK with that. A good seal on a barrel is a good thing!
We love the red – it stands out on the trail making it easy to identify on a busy portage.
Our friends have a blue barrel and it was perfect for an onsite card game.
We now have a barrel, barrel cooler, barrel buckets and barrel pockets all from Barrel Works. We highly recommend their products and their service. Check them out. AND if you don’t have barrel buckets, do not delay, they are great for organizing the barrel!
