Do you like juice for breakfast or lemon in your water on the trail?
For years we used dehydrated fruit in our water. This year we discovered True fruit crystals. These very tiny individual packets contain crystals of the fruit – no sugar or other additives. The flavour is very strong, very real and very delicious. Just put the crystals from a packet into your glass – wine glasses work – and add water.
My favorite is the grapefruit and my husband loves the lemon. The lime is very good and the orange is ok.
These are also great if you need to flavour something you are cooking. This year I made an African Peanut soup and it says add lime juice when serving. We are going to try a small bit of the lime.
The lime is also great for Mexican meals, if you really try, you can imagine you are drinking a margarita.
This is also a great way to ensure you don’t end up with scurvy on your trip. Actually, I don’t imagine there is any nutritional value, but there is also 0 calories.
